Daphne Piñatex: the women's heel sandals with criss-cross straps crafted with organic fabric, made from pineapple leaf fibers
This innovative material comes from the reuse of the residue created by the pineapple farming industry.
It uses pineapple leaf fibers to obtain a biodegradable, renewable and cruelty-free textile.
This clump-like model has a beautiful and minimalist style, without any baroque elements that burden their aesthetic and has the freshness of an open shoe.
Furthermore, it has the Nae logo printed on the heel area and the straps are nailed to the sole by metallic tacks.
Made of hypoallergenic materials and free from environmental toxins, they are breathable (preventing suffocation and excessive foot sweat) and antimicrobial (preventing bad odors).
The sole is made of wood with an organic crepé rubber base, which makes them easy to clean.
They are fresh sandals and have a soft and slip-resistant step.

The brand’s designs are taken from contemporary fashion trends, ranging from the classic court shoe to the heavy-duty combat boot.
NAE’s factory is located around 40 kilometers outside of Porto - Portugal. This manufacture was one of the firsts to recycle used car parts into new materials for shoe manufacturing. To keep transport emissions low, all materials are sourced from the European market, with the exception of Piñatex, which is imported from the Philippines.

Unlike conventional vegan shoes made of virgin plastic, NAE’s shoe collection is not only 100% vegan but also made from eco-friendly vegan leather alternatives. NAE’s best-selling range is made from Piñatex – an incredibly durable fabric made of pineapple leaf fibres. The leaves are taken from pineapple harvests, with any unused fibres then redistributed to the fields as fertiliser. It’s a completely earth-friendly process, adding a new income stream to the farmers' businesses.
NAE also uses organic cotton which, unlike regular cotton, is grown without the use of chemicals and is irrigated using 80% rainwater. NAE also uses cork – an incredibly durable and eco-friendly material. It’s waterproof, hypoallergenic, and soft. To create their vegan leather, NAE uses a special blend of microfibers, including cotton, polyester and nylon, all of which are recycled when possible to create a strong yet lightweight material.
